I would like to object to the proposed rezoning of Redcourt House Site- ref.Redcourt site, Clontarf, Map Reference F-0006
in the draft Dublin City Development Plan 2022-2028.

Firstly,this site is currently the subject of a Judicial Review of the SHD approval by ABP for Buy to Let units in contravention of the DCC's own existing development plan. Any decision with regard to the site should be paused pending that review.

Secondly , the site has remained vacant for over 15 years during which time, due to lack of security by the owner  of this landmark house, whether by accident or design ,it was allowed to fall into rack and ruin and eventually burnt down in spite of the fact that preservation of Redcourt House was condition of the original planning permission granted by DCC. It has been used as a dump and a venue for illegal social activities during those 15 years and a constant eyesore and nuisance for nearby residents. The owner/would be developer should not  rewarded by the council for his complete disregard of his responsibility by enhancing the development status of the site.

The council should ensure that the views of the local residents are listened to and heeded on all planning matters.Over 300 onjections were lodged with ABP against the SHD proposal which is an indication of the strength of feeling on the neighbourhood on the issue.
